About the role

Confidential client: an early-stage AI startup in New York City. They build software that takes on the end-to-end work of growing a business, from understanding what a company sells and who should buy it, to producing marketing creative, managing campaigns, and improving with every outcome. The goal is to shrink the distance between a good idea and the revenue it brings in.

This is a founding engineering seat on a small, ambitious team that ships quickly, holds a high bar, and genuinely enjoys cracking hard problems and getting them into customers' hands.

Who you are

  • You pick things up remarkably quickly. New, unfamiliar problems excite you; you dig in, ask good questions, test ideas, and build understanding you can put to work.
  • You can't leave something alone once you see how it could be better.
  • Prior knowledge of the stack or of performance marketing isn't required. Solid fundamentals, sound judgment, and the drive to go from zero context to useful output within days matter more.
  • AI agents are part of how you work every day, and you keep improving how you use them, while still owning the code and the quality of what ships.
  • You have built things on your own initiative: a company, open source work, automations, or a side project that went further than anyone expected.

What you get

  • Meaningful ownership: your ideas influence the product and your calls carry weight.
  • Teammates who push themselves and each other to keep improving.

Hiring process: conversations with the founding team, then a paid multi-day work trial. The whole process typically takes under a week, with a fast decision after the trial.

To apply, share your GitHub and resume, plus something you built that you're proud of.

Client identity shared under NDA after first screen.
